Democratic State Committeeman Running For City Council: Report
Justin Klekota is running for Somerville City Councilor-At-Large.
SOMERVILLE, MA — Resident Justin Klekota has announced his campaign for City Councilor-At-Large in the 2025 city election later this year, according to a report from The Somerville Times.
Klekota works as a biomedical researcher, and also serves on the State Democratic Committee which he was recently re-elected for a second term. He named climate resilience efforts as a main priority if he is elected. He also wants to increase public safety staffing to reduce police overtime expenses.
Klekota is vying for one of the four Councilor-At-Large seats on the 11-member council. Incumbents Kristen Strezo and Wlifred Mbah are seeking reelection, while the other two incumbents Jason Wilson and Willie Burnley Jr., are running for Mayor. Other residents who have announced their campaigns include Holly Simione, Ari Iaccarino, and Emily Hardt.
