Eat At Jumbo's Returning To Somerville's Ball Square

SOMERVILLE, MA — A popular Ball Square restaurant that saw some radical changes a year before it closed has a comeback in the works. Eat at Jumbo's announced on Facebook it is returning to its old spot on Broadway, where it became vegetarian restaurant Sassafras before shutting down last spring.

According to the announcement, some "Sassafras ticketed private dinners" are in the works to give the eatery a proper sendoff. Eat at Jumbo's opened in 2009 and was known for wings, pizza, sandwiches and more.

The restaurant changed its name and menu in 2018 and closed the following year, citing financial woes and Green Line Extension work. Eat at Jumbo's is located at 688 Broadway.
