A pair of Massachusetts congressmen expressed reservations about their House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi during a Tuesday evening appearance on WGBH.

Democrats lost their majority in the House of Representatives in 2010, and have continued to drop seats in subsequent elections. However Michael Capuano - whose district includes Somerville - wasn’t necessarily eager to point a finger at Pelosi during his interview with Jim Braude.

“I don’t blame one person, that would be incredibly stupid,” said Capuano. “I think we need leadership that understands that if something you’re doing is not working, change what you’re doing.”

Capuano’s Bay State Democratic compatriot, Stephen Lynch, was a touch blunter in the joint interview.

“Nancy Pelosi will not lead us back into the majority,” he said.

Eager to cultivate division, real or perceived, in the Democratic ranks, The National Republican Congressional Committee issued gleeful missives to the media. Meanwhile, Capuano issued analmost retraction to CNN.

“Any leader who refuses to change in the face of failure should step aside,” he told the source. “I believe, however, that Nancy Pelosi is making the changes necessary to lead House Democrats back to electoral success and I still believe she will do so.”

What do you think? Should Nancy Pelosi be singing the Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go?” Is the GOP blowing this out of proportion? Let us know in the comments.
