Multiple Cars Crash Through Buildings Friday In Somerville

Both of the accidents occurred on Broadway.

In an odd coincidence, a pair of cars slammed into buildings Friday night in Somerville.

According to the Somerville Fire Department, the first incident occurred at 5:11 p.m., when a mini-van crashed into 872 Broadway.

The driver and a person who had been in the building’s basement both needed to go to the hospital.

The other incident, as previously reported, happened after 12 a.m. when an occupant of a taxi apparently attacked the driver, and the cab consequently slammed into the front of 1370 Broadway. The driver was transported to the hospital with head trauma, but the occupant of the apartment was unharmed. However, a water pipe rupture caused significant flooding, according to Somerville Fire.
