The free mobile Patch app is finally here, which means you can now take us everywhere. The iPhone app went live on Thursday in Apple’s App Store and features a variety of ways for you to stay connected and keep up-to-date with news in the South End.

The Patch app consists of all the things you see on the website, including community news, weather, local business listings and events. The app allows you to share your thoughts by commenting on stories and uploading photos and also lets you share your favorite stories with friends and family via Facebook or email.

Some extra fun features: a "Favorites" button allows you to cache any Patch content for offline viewing (in airports, subways, etc.) and you can save events to your iPhone calendar in just seconds.
