Somerville City Council Race Adds Another Candidate

Ari Iaccarino is the latest to join a competitive race.

SOMERVILLE, MA — Resident Ari Iaccarino announced his campaign for City Councilor in the 2025 city election later this year.

“I won’t pretend to be the smartest person in the room, but I will be the most curious and passionate, because extraordinary times call for heartfelt work. And in the end, all we have is each other,” Iaccarino said in his announcement.

Iaccarino’s campaign launch comes on the heels of his appearance on television news in which he campaigned for changes to the intersection of the Mystic Valley Parkway and Boston Avenue, which would be a priority for Iaccarino if elected.

Incumbents Kristen Strezo and Wlifred Mbah are seeking reelection, while the other two incumbents Jason Wilson and Willie Burnley Jr., are running for Mayor. Earlier this month, Holly Simione joined the race as well.
