Somerville Library Opens For Contactless Pickup

Borrowed materials still have due dates, but the library will not be collecting fines for the foreseeable future.

SOMERVILLE, MA — The Somerville Public Library started offering contactless pickup on Monday, July 6. Patrons can request library materials online using their Minuteman account. Library staff will then notify patrons by either email or phone when their items are ready to be picked up. Pickup appointments will be scheduled by using the library's online appointment system on www.somervillepubliclibrary.org, or by calling the Somerville Public Library at 617-623-5000.

All borrowed materials have due dates, but the library will not collect fines on late returns for the foreseeable future. Book drops are open at both the Central and East branch locations for returns. Materials may be returned to West at TAB during pickup hours only.

Pickup hours are 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:15 to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday at all library branches, and from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays at the Central and East branches. All patrons must wear a face covering when picking up materials.
