Somerville Man Charged In Roommate's Death Held Without Bail
Edson Moreno, 26, is accused of fatally shooting 22-year-old Robert Favreau during an argument in a Ware Street apartment.

SOMERVILLE, MA — A Somerville man accused of fatally shooting his roommate during an argument Wednesday night was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.
Edson Moreno, 26, was arraigned in Somerville District Court on charges of armed assault with attempt to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon. Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said more charges are expected.
The shooting happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in a two-family home on Ware Street. Police found 22-year-old Robert Favreau, of Cambridge, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Favreau died shortly after first responders arrived, Ryan said.

Arriving officers found a man, later identified as 26-year-old Edson Moreno, of Somerville, standing outside the home with a gun, Ryan said. Police ordered him to drop the gun and placed him under arrest.
Ryan said Favreau had been staying with Moreno for several months, and the pair got into a "verbal altercation that escalated."
