Somerville Mayor to Host Presidential Candidate Martin O'Malley

Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone will be hosting Democratic presidential contender Martin O’Malley as he tours the Boston area for a series of fundraisers and media appearances this week.
Curtatone and former Lt. Gov. Tom O’Neil will host a fundraising event for the former Maryland Governor at River Bar on Assembly Row in Somerville on Thursday night, according to the State House News Service.

O’Malley has struggled thus far to emerge a leading candidate amid a crowded Democratic field which includes Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. The most recent stats out of New Hampshire shows O’Malley polling at just 4 percent.
Despite the slow start, O’Malley has attracted several high-profile donors from Massachusetts to his campaign such as Deval Patrick and his former finance chair Sean Curran, among many others.

O’Malley is most known for passing a marriage equality act and raising the minimum wage while working as governor.
