Stray Bullets Smash Window Of Children’s Bedroom In Somerville

Somerville police responded to a report of shots fired on Mystic Avenue around 10:15 p.m. Sunday.

SOMERVILLE, MA — Police are investigating after stray bullets hit the window of a children’s bedroom in Somerville on Sunday night, reported NBC10 Boston.

Somerville police responded to a report of shots fired on Mystic Avenue around 10:15 p.m. Upon arrival, they found that bullets had broken windows at 7 Memorial Road, including a bedroom window where children were sleeping.

According to NBC10, the father of the three girls, ages 7 to 14, said the bullet shattered the first later of double-paned glass but did not make it through to the room.

Police also found 10 9mm casings in the parking lot at Central Convenience at 460 Mystic Avenue.

No injuries were reported and the incident remains under investigation.
