Suspect In Cambridge Robbery, Carjacking Fled Into Somerville: PD

Police are searching for a man they say robbed an employee of a nail salon and then carjacked a person at gunpoint.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — The suspect in an armed robbery in East Cambridge carjacked a person at gunpoint and fled into Somerville, police said.

The robbery happened on Cambridge Street shortly before 12:30 p.m. Police said the man showed a gun and demanded money from an employee of a nail salon.

The man then stole a car and fled near the McDonald's at Twin City Plaza, police said. The car was found abandoned near the railroad tracks behind Sav-Mor Liquors on McGrath Highway.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 5-foot-8 and stocky, with a scruffy beard and dirty blonde hair.
