Suspect In Somerville Plant Thefts To Undergo Restorative Justice
A suspected plant thief in Winter Hill wrote an apology and agreed to make restitution to the victims, police said.

SOMERVILLE, MA — A person suspected in a series of plant thefts in Somerville was identified by police and agreed to undergo restorative justice. Police received multiple reports of theft in the Winter Hill area in May and June.
Plants were taken from front and backyards, as well as ceramic and plastic planters. The incidents happened several times with "no discernible pattern," police said.
Detectives were able to identify the thief. Police spoke with the suspect, who wrote an apology and agreed to make restitution to the victims in lieu of prosecution. Police said the agreement was made in the spirit of restorative justice.
