Video: Katie Couric Visits Tufts, Says No Plans For Reunion With Matt Lauer

A team up with Lauer won't happened any time soon, but could happen sometime in the future, Couric said.

Katie Couric has no plans of reuniting with former Today Show co-host Matt Lauer, she said yesterday morning on the Tufts campus.

Couric visited Tufts on Monday to speak at the Murrow Forum, and made a stop at the university's bookstore to sign copies of her new book.

Following the book signing, she dismissed rumors she and Lauer would join forces on a syndicated talk show.

"I think he's a terrific person, but there are no plans," Couric said.

Lauer's contract with NBC's Today Show doesn't end until 2012, and he's committed to that program, Couric said.

"He's got a job, and I'm going to figure out what I'm going to do," she said.

Couric's contract as anchor of the CBS Evening News expires in June. Rumors have recently leaked that she would leave to establish her own syndicated talk show. Couric dodged questions on those plans, saying she would be at the CBS news desk "tonight" and "for the foreseeable future."

"I'm figuring out what I'm going to be doing," Couric said. "I'm excited about the future and weighing some options. I'm right in the thick of it."
