L-S to Host Winter Concert Jan. 6

The L-S Civic Orchestra will hold its annual Winter Concert on Sunday, January 6 at 4.30pm in the LSRHS Auditorium. The Orchestra, conducted by Lincoln'sPip Moss, features adult and student musicians from Lincoln and Sudbury.

The afternoon's program will include the following works:
My Home, Op 62 - Antonin DvorakL'Arlesienne Suite No. 1 - George BizetSymphony #2 - Jean Sibelius
The L-S Civic Orchestra was formed in the 1970s by the late Don March, then the head of the music departments at Lincoln-Sudbury and Lincoln School.

March hired Moss for his first teaching job. March had the idea to create a joint adult-student group as a community orchestra, as at the time there was an insufficient number of string players to form an ensemble within the schools. Moss became conductor of the Civic Orchestra in the late 1980s.
