Former L-S Star Runner Earns Honor at Georgetown University

Andrea Keklak is excelling on the track and in the classroom at Georgetown University.

Andrea Keklak left Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School two years ago with an impressive resume as a top runner:

  • Third-ranked in the US - 800m
  • Top-ranked US - 1000m indoors
  • Third-ranked US - 600m indoors
  • 12th-ranked US - mile indoors
  • Four-time Massachusetts State Champion (XC, 800m, two-time 1000m)
  • High School All-American.

And she's quickly kept up the pace at the collegiate level.

Keklak, a transfer product and sociology major for the Georgetown University track and field program, was one of five Hoyas recently honored by U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for academics.

To be named an individual all-academic standout by the USTFCCCA, a student-athlete must maintain a GPA of 3.25 or higher and have met either of the following athletic standards:

1) For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in and individual event or ranked in the national top 46 (collective listing) in a relay event;

or 

2) For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships, including preliminary rounds.

"(She) proved to be an all-around talent on the track filling in different spots with relays as well as excelling in individual events," the university said in a release. 

Keklak transferred after a year at Princeton.
