Goodnow Library Gala Fundraiser Set For May

SUDBURY, MA — An annual fundraiser benefiting the Goodnow Library will return in May. The Goodnow Library Foundation event will feature music and food, and will celebrate 15 years of foundation support of the library.

The Goodnow Library Foundation (GLF) will host its 8th annual gala fundraiser on Friday, May 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. Guests will enjoy live music, generous hors d’oeuvres and dessert, and more. The event takes place in the Goodnow Library, where guests can explore both levels, including the recently renovated Historical Room.

The “Fabulous Fifteen!” event celebrates the GLF’s 15th anniversary of supporting the Goodnow Library. The evening features extraordinary live music by Mariachi Mexico Lindo from 5–6pm, and pianists Ethan Li and Maggie McLeod, students of Note-worthy Experiences and Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in Sudbury, from 6 to 8pm.

Generous hors d’oeuvres and dessert are provided by Bakers’ Best Catering. A cash bar and tequila tasting bar are managed by Sudbury Wine & Spirits.

“The GLF is so pleased to have the gala back in the library after three years of holding it elsewhere or virtually,” commented Loring Schwarz, president of the Goodnow Library Foundation’s Board of Directors. “How wonderful to be back together again, with the newly refurbished Historical Room as the centerpiece, celebrating all-things Goodnow and coming together as a community.”

Five levels of sponsorships as well as individual tickets are offered for the event. Each sponsorship level offers varying benefits, including tickets to the event. Individual tickets are $90 per person if purchased by April 26; ticket price increases to $100 per person on April 27. The event takes place at the Goodnow Library at 21 Concord Road, Sudbury, Massachusetts.

The “Fabulous Fifteen” event provides an additional source of revenue for the Goodnow Library’s growing needs—such as programs for all ages, technology upgrades, capital improvements, museum passes, expanded digital collections, and much more—that are not funded by the state or town. The Foundation has provided financial support for the renovation of the Civil War Memorial on the library’s grounds, renovation of the Children’s Department, creation of a first-floor community gathering space, an overhaul of public use computers, renovation of the second floor, the creation of the Sara Sherman NOW Lab maker space, and renovation of the Historical Room. The funds raised for improvements to the library benefit all visitors and participants, amounting to more than 150,000 people annually.
