MA Leaders To Host Public Forum In Sudbury On Federal Funding Cuts

The director of the Commonwealth's Federal Funds and Infrastructure Office is set to speak at the event.

SUDBURY, MA — Next month, Massachusetts leaders are set to host a public forum on federal funding cuts and the state's response.

The forum titled "The Road Ahead: The Impact of Federal Cuts and the State's Response" will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 3, featuring State Rep. Carmine Gentile (D - 13th Middlesex) and Sen. Jamie Eldridge (D - Middlesex and Worcester).

Quentin Palfrey, director of the state's Federal Funds and Infrastructure Office, will speak at the event, followed by a moderated question-and-answer session. Palfrey will talk about recent changes in federal funding, how the state is responding and its potential impact on local governments, nonprofit organizations and communities in Massachusetts.

“This forum is about ensuring residents have clear, factual information about what’s happening at the federal level and how the Commonwealth is preparing for what comes next,” said Rep. Gentile. “We want people to understand the stakes and to have the opportunity to engage directly with state leaders.”

The event begins at 7 p.m. at the Sudbury Meetinghouse / First Parish of Sudbury, located at 327 Concord Rd., and is open to the public. For those who are unable to join in person, the program will be broadcast and recorded by SudburyTV.

The program is intended to provide nonpartisan informational insight, and community members are encouraged to participate in the discussion.

The forum is sponsored by Rep. Gentile, Sen. Eldridge, the League of Women Voters of Sudbury, the League of Women Voters of Concord-Carlisle, First Parish of Sudbury, Sudbury Meetinghouse, Athina Education, and Sustainable Sudbury.
