Mosquito Spraying In Sudbury: Where, When It's Happening
Trucks will drive through some sections of Sudbury around sunset to control the adult mosquito population.
SUDBURY, MA — Trucks will move through some parts of Sudbury Monday evening, spraying pesticides to control the adult mosquito population.
The spraying comes ahead of a mosquito season that's predicted to be especially bad in Sudbury and across Massachusetts due to high amounts of rain in recent months.
Monday's spraying will take place between sunset and 11:30 p.m. The trucks will spray near vicinity of Belcher Drive, Hampshire Street, Grindstone Lane, Atkinson Lane, Intervale Road and Barton Drive.

"The mosquito control product being used is Zenivex E4, and it’s being applied at 1 ounce per-acre. Zenivex E4 is a non-ester pyrethroid and is classified by the EPA as a reduced risk pesticide. Mosquito control applications of Zenivex E4 do not pose a significant risk to people or their pets due to the low toxicity and the small amount used to control mosquitoes," the East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project said.
Still, health officials advised residents to stay indoors with windows shut if trucks are present.
