Planners Meet With Public On Shaping The New Natick Center

Several groups met with the public to talk about the future of Natick Center.

NATICK, MA—Progress on the redesign of Natick Center is moving along.

Town officials, Natick Center Associates, managers of the Natick Center Cultural District and others met with the public for a daylong session hosted by MutualOne Bank to work on the "Creative Placemaking Strategy and Plan" for Natick Center. The project aims to engage Natick residents, business owners, and town staff in an ongoing public discussion about how spaces and landmarks in Natick Center can be activated through arts, culture, and design in culturally inclusive and accessible ways, said the announcement.

A collaboration between the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC), Natick’s Department of Community and Economic Development, and Natick Center Associates, the partners are holding a series of workshops and plan to pop up at other Natick events throughout the spring and summer. When the project's done, the town gets an action plan that outlines actions for streamlining municipal policies and procedures as it relates to arts and culture in public places and spaces.
