Simon, Woodard to be Sworn in at Next Selectmen Meeting

The two newest members were victorious last week during Special Town Election.

The newly-elected members of the Sudbury Board of Selectmen – Chuck Woodard and Len Simon – will be worn in July 9 by Town Clerk Rosemary Harvell at 7:30 p.m. at the beginning of the Board of Selectmen’s meeting, Town Manager Maureen Valente announced.

Immediately following the swearing-in ceremony, the Board will begin its business agenda at approximately 7:45 p.m.

Woodard, the former FINCOM member, defeated Thaddeus Gozdeck by a meer 27 votes, 2,273-2,246. The big surprise in the race for the two-year seat was that 355 votes went to Eric Poch, who pulled out of the race last week.

In the race for the three-year seat, Simon defeated Dan DePompei handily, 2,577-2,270. For DePompei, it was his second attempt in two years to get on the Board.

The official results were made public Friday.
