Sudbury, Marlborough Trails Temporarily Closed To Restore Habitat
Sections of trails in two forests on the Marlborough Sudbury border are closed.

SUDBURY, MA—Respect your surroundings and adhere to the signs.
There is an effort by Marlborough and Sudbury officials to restore pitch pine/scrub oak barrens in the Desert Natural Area and Memorial Forests on the Marlborough-Sudbury border. It's a long-term project taken on by the city of Marlborough and the Sudbury Valley Trustees. The goal is to restore the unusual barrens to provide habitats for whip-poor-will and wild lupine.
Through March, the city is mowing a 14-acre area near the trail junctions E and F. Dead trees will also be removed from that area.
