Westborough Offers Cooling Options During Heat Wave
The Juneteenth will disrupt the town's cooling center options on Wednesday.
WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough residents will have some options to seek refuge from the heat wave Tuesday to Friday, although the Juneteenth holiday will disrupt some cooling options.
The Westborough Senior Center has been designated as a cooling center, and will be open until 7 p.m. each day through Friday. The center will have a delayed opening at 11 a.m. on Juneteenth.
The library will be open until 8 p.m. each day this week, except Friday, when the building will close at 7 p.m. The library will be closed on Juneteenth.

"We encourage residents to check on elderly neighbors to assure that they are ok. Should you require public safety assistance, please dial 911 for emergencies and (508) 475-4800 for non-emergencies," Westborough police said.
Outside the area, the state Department of Recreation and Conservation (DCR) will extend hours at pools, wading pools, spray decks, beaches, and waterfronts. For a list of DCR’s ocean beaches click here, and for the freshwater inland beaches click here.
