SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury residents will pay a little more to get rid of trash and recycling at the transfer station starting soon.

On June 1, a number of fees — including the base price of a transfer station sticker — will increase. The new fees were approved recently by the Sudbury Select Board.

Sudbury will continue to offer a 50 percent discount — called a "waiver" — to residents age 65 and older who can either demonstrate financial hardship or who live in subsidized housing. The waiver fees will be half of the new fee rates starting June 1.

Sudbury opened the "put and take" section of the transfer station — a pile of free, used items — on May 2. Residents can donate items to the put-and-take that are in good condition, except bedding, upholstered furniture, televisions and computers.
