The Sudbury Water District Is Not Calling For Money

SUDBURY, MA—The Sudbury Water District is not calling and asking for money. Remember that, and hang up.

It has been brought to the attention of the department that town residents have been receiving automated telephone calls (robocalls) from an unknown source claiming to represent the Sudbury Water District. The context of the message is a request for credit card information for a reduced water rate, said the announcement.

The department warns: this is a scam.

"Do not respond to this call. Sudbury Water District has notified Sudbury Police Department of the fraudulent calls. As a rule never give personal information such as credit card, checking account or social security numbers to an unknown caller."
