These Level 2 sex offenders are not listed on the SORB site, as the board only posts Level 2 offenders who were classified after July 2013, a decision reached by the Supreme Judicial Court related to the law passed in 2013.
As Perodeau explains, the process to obtain information about a Level 2 sex offender is regulated by Mass/ General Law Ch. 6/178J. In part the law reads “ I understand that the sex offender registry information disclosed to me is intended for my own protection or for the protection of a child under the age of 18 or another person for whom I have responsibility, care or custody” obtain this information, you must come to the police department, present an ID, and sign that you understand the above listed statement."
