Voters, You've Got 2 Sudbury Specific Questions On Election Day

Sudbury voters, not only will you vote in the mid-term election, and the three state-wide ballot initiatives, but two town-specific votes.

SUDBURY, MA—One was defeated at Special Town Meeting and the other overwhelmingly approved.

Both, Sudbury voters, are questions on the Tuesday, Nov. 6, ballot.

Battles rage over the vote for the first three ballot questions, which appear statewide in Massachusetts for the midterm elections.

Question 4 on the Sudbury ballot asks voters to approve, or not, funds for a new Fairbank Community Center. At Town Meeting on Oct. 15, the town rejected spending the money for the new center, not getting the majority needed to pass the $1.9 million sought to pay for designs. Approval would make the town exempt from provisionsof proposition two and a half for the amount to pay for the bonds to pay for the design. The Fairbank Community Center includes the Atkinson Pool, Senior Center and the Parks and Recreation offices. While it failed at town meeting, the vote is up for the election vote that would be needed to approve these designs.

Question 5 would solidify the purchase of Broadacres Farm, which passed overwhelmingly at Special Town Meeting, but needs an election vote to move through. This, if approved, would make Sudbury be exempt from the provisions of proposition two and a half to get the amount required to pay for the bonds to purchase the property at 82 Morse Road.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
