Will You Support a New Sudbury Police Station?
Sudbury residents will weigh in on the issue on Monday. But you can weigh in on Patch as well.
The first step in determining whether or not there will be a new Sudbury Police Department comes on Monday. But before you weigh in at the ballot box, we want you to weigh in on Patch.
Monday is Election Day, and in addition to the races for elected office, there is a lone ballot question that asks residents if they support the funding for a proposed police station, which must pass at the ballot and also at Annual Town Meeting.
The potential police station will likely cost at least $7.5 million. According to previous Patch coverage of the topic, the building is proposed to be 14,500 square feet.
While some residents have voiced their support for the project, saying the current building is outdated, others have questioned the need for a multi-million dollar facility with a small staff at the Sudbury Police Department.
So where do you stand on the issue? Will you be voting for the proposed police station at the ballot box and Town Meeting? Why or why not? Are you undecided? If so, what information could sway your opinion one way or another?
Let us know your thoughts on the topic in the comments section below, and if you're particularly passionate about the issue, you are welcome to share your thoughts by posting a letter to the editor.
