'She'll Tell You That She Is Just Doing Her Job': Tewksbury Nurse

TEWKSBURY, MA — Amid the coronavirus, the always-vital work that healthcare providers do is even more critical — and risky. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

What does the nominee do for work?
Danielle is an RN at MGH in a COVID19 unit

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Danielle is not only a hard working nurse but a great mother and now teacher to three children, aged three, eight and nine.

She manages to not only fulfill these roles at this difficult time but thinks of ways to help out the community. She recently made and sold many bracelets to help raise money to support small businesses.

When her pediatric unit at MGH was converted to a COVID unit, she and her fellow nurses were missing their pediatric patients so she asked the kids of Tewksbury to help out with drawings and words of encouragement and they cane through with flying colors.

Danielle was thrilled to decorate Ellison 18 at MGH and help spread good cheer. That’s just the kind of person Danielle is. Always looking for ways to help others and I am so very proud to call her my daughter.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
I’d like people to know that Danielle doesn’t consider herself a hero. She will tell you that she is just doing her job.
