WALTHAM, MA — It came down to 14-year-old ventriloquist puppeteer Darci Lynne Farmer and Waltham's own magician, Shin Lim, at the "America's Got Talent: The Champions" finals Monday.
When Crews yelled Lim’s name as the winner of America's Got Talent Champions, the 27-year-old fell to his knees and confetti cascaded around him and the Queen song “We Are The Champions” blared.
For weeks, he had performed on “AGT: The Champions” a season where winners of past shows competed for the final championship fan vote. It culminated live Monday. Not only did Lim get bragging rights after the competition that brought back familiar franchise favorite winners - from Susan Boyle to the Singer Courtney Hadwin, he won $25,000 and a pretty fancy trophy.

In one of Lim's final acts, he called host Terry Crews to the stage. He asked Crews to take a card, and hold it. He then began to manipulate deck of cards in front of him so that he pulled first aces then kings and then queens and then made them all disappear. The card in Crews' hand magically turned into multiple. "What!" exclaimed Crews.
But then after some more card magic, he asked Crews to check his inside pocket. Inside was the final card.

"Woah this is crazy!" Crews yelled.
But the winning act involved a different "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star.
Melissa Fumaro joined Lim onstage and wowed the audience with a trick that involved pulling a queen of diamonds from his mouth, complete with a lipstick kiss Fumaro had placed on it.
In addition to winning the regular season show in 2018, Lim has a few accolades up his sleeve. The Acton-Boxborough Regional High School alum was a winner at the 2015 International Federation of Magic Societies World Championships — dubbed the Olympics of magic. He's toured all over the world from Scandinavia to Singapore, where his parents are from.
He's a classically trained pianist and has fooled the likes of magicians Penn and Teller with his characteristic sleight of hand tricks.
Lim was born in Canada his home base is in Waltham, according to his mother.
