Russo's In Watertown Closes After 100 Years In Business
The popular family-owned specialty grocery and fresh produce store says goodbye to Watertown residents for good.
WATERTOWN, MA — Tony Russo planned to shut Russo's down at some point this fall, and after more than 100 years in business, the market saw its last day Saturday.
Last month, owner Tony Russo said he would be retiring and closing the business this fall after working in his family's market for over 70 years.
Saturday the market opened up shop for the last time, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

"Today is our final day. We thank you for all of your wonderful stories and photographs," Russo's said in a statement on Instagram.
The business began in 1919, starting out as a small farm and eventually working its way up to the huge success Watertown residents have come to love.

Russo's website posted its goodbyes while giving a little background information on Tony, explaining how he has worked in all areas of the retail and wholesale business through decades with his days starting around 3:30 a.m. and ending after 8 p.m.
Now Tony can kick back and enjoy some well-deserved time off.
