5 Things: Finnerty's Hearings, Political Cartoons and More

A few things you need to know on Jan. 8, 2013, in Wayland.

1. Finnerty's Discussions Continue. Both the Design Review Board and the Planning Board have the redevelopment project at 150 Main St., on their agendas for tonight. The DRB meeting will convene at 6:30 p.m., while the Planning Board meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. (though the 150 Main St., hearing isn't scheduled to occur until 8:30).

2. Other Meetings. In addiiton to the Planning Board and the DRB, the Council on Aging Board, Zoning Board, Surface Water Quality Committee, Wastewater Management Commission and Permanent Municipal Building Committee are all scheduled to meet tonight. 3. Political Cartoons on Display. The Wayland Cultural Council's latest exhibit, this one of political cartoons from the Middlesex Daily News, is on display now at the Wayland Town Building.

5. A Sad Anniversary. It was on this date in 2011, that Sen. Gabrielle Giffords was injured in an Arizona shooting rampage that killed six people and injured 13, including Giffords, according to History.com. The gunman was sentenced to life in prison without parole as part of a plea deal.
