5 Things: Historic District Public Hearing, Ethnic Instruments and Womans Club

A few things you need to know on Feb. 21, 2013, in Wayland.

1. Puppet Show. The Sudbury Valley Trustees are offering a puppet show titled, "Turtle's New Home, A Story about Friends and a Wetland Habitat," today at Wolbach Farm. Registration is required, but the program isn't until 1 p.m., so there's time to register.

2. Womans Club Meeting. The Womans Club, a combined Sudbury Woman's Club and Wayland Womans Club, will welcome a speaker today to talk about Parmenter Hospice Services. The club will meet at Goodnow Library in Sudbury.

3. Storyteller at the Library. Dave Bates will lead "a participatory program celebrating the seasons with stories and songs from around the world" at the Wayland Library today. "Under One Sky" is for children 4 and up and will include instruments such as the spoons, limberjack and various ethnic percussion instruments.

4. Meeting Tonight. The Historic District Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing tonight regarding a request by First Parish Church to build an connector between the meeting house and the parish house.
