5 Things: Preschool Open House, Draft Budget and 'Sexy' Talk

1. Bright Horizons Program. The Wayland preschool location will hold an open house tonight to allow current students and their parents to participate in Bright Horizons activities side-by-side and will allow parents of prospective students to talk with alumni parents and learn more.

2. 'So Sexy, So Soon.' Dr. Diane E. Levin, author of "So Sexy, So Soon: The New Sexualized Childhood and What We Can Do About It" will be at the Loker School tonight to talk about her book and discuss how to encourage healthy development.

3. Draft Budget Presentation. The Finance Committee will present its draft FY14 budget tonight. According to the FinCom agenda, the presentation will begin at 8:15 p.m. at Wayland Town Building.

4. Other Meetings. The Board of Selectmen are scheduled to convene for the purpose of attending the Finance Committee presentation. Additionally, the 375th Anniversary Commemoration Committee is also scheduled to meet (click the link for an agenda).

5. Happy 61st Anniversary on the Throne. On this date in 1952, King George VI died in his sleep, making his oldest daughter, Princess Elizabeth, the queen, according to History.com. She was crowned in an official coronation ceremony on June 2, 1953.
