6th Annual Pam's Run Planned For Wayland
Pam's Run is dedicated to the memory of Pam Manikas Washek.

WAYLAND, MA—Pam's Run continues the mission of what one woman did for her community.
The event, happening Sunday, Oct. 14, kicks off at 10 a.m. at the Claypit Hill School includes not only the 5K run or walk, or the 10K run, but a festival full of fun. This year, there's a Pam's Run photo contest, photo booth, food, live music and raffles. All proceeds benefit the Neighbor Brigade.
Pam's Run is dedicated to the memory of Pam Manikas Washek, who founded the Neighbor Brigade, which helps residents in crisis with free and immediate services. Pam’s Run raisees funds critical to Neighbor Brigade’s continuing operations and ability to reach more individuals and families in need of support and assistance.

"Pam's Run is the biggest fundraiser for Neighbor Brigade," Pam's daughter Kathryn Washek told Patch. "Last year we had about 700 registered runners and expect around 800 this year (fingers crossed!). What makes this event so special is the focus on community, which goes hand in hand with the mission of Neighbor Brigade. Even if people aren't runners they can walk the 5K or just hang out and enjoy the band (Daddios), food trucks, raffle, auction, vendors, etc., all while supporting a great cause. We even have a Kids' Fun Run and kids' activities so there really is something for every age, It's hard to put into the words the special energy at Pam's Run, but it is one of my favorite days of the year."
