WAYLAND, MA — The Wayland Health Department will host former Boston Celtics point guard Chris Herren for a discussion about addiction and recovery. Herren, who has been in recovery since 2008, is the co-author of"Basketball Junkie: A Memoir."

Plan to attend this important event as Chris shares his journey, navigating the disease of drug and alcohol addiction as a local kid in Fall River, all the way to the NBA. Be inspired by his road to recovery, and his mission to make a difference.

Parents, caregivers, and any community members, from in or around Wayland, are encouraged to share in Chris' powerful message at this public, evening presentation. It is suggested that this program is appropriate for adults, young adults and mature Middle Schoolers.
