Gordon Cliff is running for the open seat on the Board of Selectman. His election would add a well-rounded, thoughtful financial and management expert to the board with the broadest jurisdiction of our Town’s boards and committees.Â
Wayland as a town, led by the Board of Selectmen, will be considering long overdue infrastructure improvements in the next few years: a new DPW facility and a Senior Center/Library, to name just two. The Town has been strong financially as a result of the work and foresight of past and current Boards of Selectmen and Finance Committees. Gordon understands the Town’s need for, and supports maintenance of, existing services and assets for public safety (he is in favor of restoring the personnel levels of the police force and supports the construction of a new DPW facility) and open space (he is against cutting Community Preservation Act funding). With his management background and interest in sound financial planning, Gordon is in favor of prudently managing funds to provide for the Town’s future obligations, which are mandated by law, to its retired employees.Â

Gordon Cliff has a stellar educational and work background to serve this Town well as a selectman. A Williams College Phi Beta Kappa graduate, with an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, Gordon is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and director at a leading consulting firm with more than twenty-five years experience in his field. He has already shown his deep interest in the Town by serving on the Town’s Audit Committee. Gordon will bring his strong intellectual and analytical skills to the issues facing the Town in its 375th year and well beyond. Â
Gordon is by far the best candidate for the Board of Selectman, and for keeping Wayland strong. Please join me in voting for Gordon Cliff for Selectman on Tuesday, April 2.Â
