Selectmen Preview: Discussion of Recreation Agreement with Sudbury

Wayland's Board of Selectmen will meet tonight at 7 p.m. at Wayland Town Building.

The Board of Selectmen will meet on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, in Wayland Town Building beginning at 7 p.m. 

After reviewing the meeting agenda for the viewing public and making any announcements, selectmen will hear public comment.  At 7:15 p.m., the board will then consider the amended intermunicipal agreement with the Town of Sudbury for recreation services. The Town of Sudbury purchases 20 hours per week of administrative services related to recreation, paying 50 percent of the salary and fringe benefit costs to Wayland.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., selectmen will interview five citizens who have volunteered to serve on the temporary advisory study committee created to review and make recommendations on funding practices for other post-employment benefits (OPEB) and investment policy structure for those funds. The board will then consider reappointments of citizens who have indicated a willingness to accept an additional term of office.

Next, the board is expected to complete work on organizational matters, including adoption of guiding principles and code of conduct.

After selectmen consider the consent calendar and review correspondence, the board will hear the report of the Town Administrator, which will include an update on pending matters and a review of upcoming meeting agenda topics.  Before adjourning the meeting, Selectmen will offer their own reports and concerns.

The session begins at 7 p.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room.
