WayCam Puts Spotlight On The Marijuana Ballot Question

There's a special election on Oct. 2 in Wayland that would, or not, ban the sale of recreational marijuana in town. The Buzz spotlights.

WAYLAND, MA—This week, WayCam's Buzz is previewing the upcoming special election that has the big pot question in the forefront.

On WayCam's "The Buzz," host Susan Wagner focuses on the special election on Oct. 2 that looks to permanently ban (or not) the sale of recreational marijuana in Wayland. The current moratorium on marijuana sales expires at the end of 2018.

According to WayCam's synopsis, town officials are in favor of a permanent ban, and that’s the subject of the October 2nd election. The show looks at the data and the pro and con positions with three panelists: Steven Hoffman, Chair of the Mass. Cannabis Control Commission; Dr. John Schuler, Chair of Wayland’s Board of Health; and Jim Borghesani, principal of a Boston firm consulting to the marijuana industry.
