Wayland Athletic Director Headed West After This School Year

Wayland High/Wayland Middle Athletic Director Justice Smith will not return to his position for the 2013-14 school year, according to an announcement for Wayland High Principal Pat Tutwiler.

Smith will head to the western United States where he plans to pursue collegiate athletic administration, Tutwiler said.

"Anyone who has had the pleasure of interacting with Justice, be it casually at a sporting event or more substantively through one of the countless programs and initiatives in which he is involved, will willingly attest to his warm personality and demonstrably student-centered core values," Tutwiler wrote. "Over the past three years, he has made innumerable contributions and shown himself to be knowledgeable and hardworking. We wish him well in his future endeavors."

Wayland High School is forming a search committee to find the next athletic director. Those interested in participating in the search committee are asked to complete this online form by today, May 20.
