Wayland Police, Schools To Get Lifesaving Kits After Bank Donation
The local bank donated more than $21,000 to the town to buy 12 medical kits.

WAYLAND, MA — Wayland's Village Bank has donated more than $21,000 to the town to buy defibrillator kits for police and school buildings.
With the grant, Wayland police will buy a dozen medical kits, and nine will include automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Police received a discount for buying the kits in bulk, and were able to acquire three more than previously thought — the extra kits will go to Wayland schools.
Additionally, now every police car in Wayland will have a kit onboard with an AED.

"The kits are able to fit all necessary medical equipment in a single bag, including an AED, Narcan, trauma kit and other important lifesaving supplies. Previously, officers utilized multiple bags and chose which bags they needed to take to a scene based on the nature of an emergency," the town said in a news release.
