Wayland Police Warn of Scam

From the Wayland Police Department:

The Wayland Police Department would like to warn residents and businesses about a FRAUDULENT SCAM.

On Monday, September 9, 2013, a Wayland business was contacted about not paying their electric bill, which they had and were told if they did not pay within a specified time frame then their electricity would be shut off.

They were told to utilize a "Green Dot Money Pak" and to wire money using that service.

The Wayland Police Department warns all residents and businesses about sending money through Western Union and/or Green Dot Money Pak's.

If you have any questions regarding potential scams, please contact the company that you do business with or the Wayland Police Department at 508-358-4721.
