Annual Youth Speech Contest To Kick Off In Westborough
High school students who are interested must register by Nov. 14.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough High School students are invited to participate in a speech competition this fall.
The annual Youth Speech Contest, which begins at the club or school level, will take place in Westborough on Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. The competition, hosted by the Westborough Lions Club, will focus on the topic, "What can past America teach future America?"
Once the winner is decided at the local level, the competition progresses through several other levels over the course of a few months.

The students will move through competitions within their zone, region, district, and finally a state-wide contest. The final competition will take place in late April or early May, and nearly $3,000 is on the line.
Any high school students who are interested in participating must register by Nov. 14, and draft speeches are due on Nov. 24.

"It's a great addition to a college resume and a great way to practice your public speaking skills," wrote the Westborough Lions Club.
The local event will take place at Central One Federal Credit Union, at 40 South St. in Westborough.
