Average Westborough Homeowner Faces $161.50 Tax Increase

The average Westborough single-family homeowner faces a $161.50 tax increase based on a new single tax rate presented by the board of assessors Tuesday night.

Selectmen voted to maintain Westborough's single tax rate, during a tax classification public hearing at the Forbes Municipal Building.

The assessors recommended a new tax rate of $19.29 per $1,000. That's a 32-cent increase from last year's rate of $18.97, Chief Assessor/Chairman Linda Swadel said.
