Good News: Westborough Has the Best Whiskey

You may not know that there’s an entire magazine devoted to whiskey, but I bet you’d trust that magazine when it says a local liquor store can offer you one of the best whisky experiences in the United States.

Anyone who’s stepped inside Julio’s Liquors knows it’s true. The store’s vast selection of whiskey brands and “dedicated tasting room offering free tastings” cinched not only it’s nomination, but also a win for National Whiskey Retailer of the Year - Single Outlet.

Whiskey Magazine recently announced the 2015 winners after a nomination and voting process. Whiskey producers, retailers, distributors and importers were allowed to nominate both companies and individuals in the whiskey market for an Icons of Whiskey title.

After almost 4,000 votes and a final review by Whiskey Magazine’s panel of experts, Julio’s Liquors came away with the title for single outlet retailer.

One person who nominated Julio’s Liquors wrote, “I can sum up my nomination for Julio’s Liquors for Icons of Whisky in one word…passion.”

And maybe it’s passion that keeps Julio’s winning awards. This is the third year in a row that Julio’s has won Whiskey Magazines Icons of Whiskey Award, according to WMRC. The liquor store also won the Massachusetts’s Beverage Business’s Retailer of the Year award in 2011.
