• New England Police Union Urges Westborough To Fix Police 'Staffing And Compensation Crisis' (patch.com) — Westborough’s police union is warning town leaders about a serious staffing and pay problem, saying the department has lost 13 officers since fall 2024, many over salary concerns. The New England Police Benevolent Association argues low compensation and unpaid body-camera use are hurting recruitment and retention, leaving remaining officers stretched thin to cover shifts.
   

• Westborough MA opens public hearing on apartment proposal. What's next (milforddailynews.com) — A 388-unit apartment complex is being proposed across two Route 9 parcels in Westborough, with buildings up to five stories and several zoning waivers requested. The Planning Board opened a public hearing on Dec. 2 and will continue discussions Dec. 16, weighing reduced open space, parking, and affordable units against potential housing and design benefits.
   

• Haulin' 4 Hunger: Advantage Truck Group delivers holiday meals (thetrucker.com) — Advantage Truck Group’s Haulin’ 4 Hunger program is delivering thousands of holiday meals, including fresh turkey dinners for the Westborough Food Pantry and other Central Massachusetts organizations. Between December 11 and 23, the company will distribute both fresh and non-perishable meals across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont, expanding a 13-year effort that has already provided more than 98,000 meals.
