With 'Tripledemic' On The Rise, Westborough Offers Boosters

Head to Westborough Town Hall Tuesday to get the newest vaccine defense against COVID-19.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — It's a good time to get a free COVID-19 booster shot.

The Westborough Board of Health on Tuesday will hold a vaccine clinic offering the bivalent COVID-19 booster, which is effective against new variants of the virus like omicron. You can register for a slot in the clinic online.

Anyone interested in getting a vaccine should bring vaccine cards, wear a mask and bring health insurance information, if available. People who are sick with either flu or COVID-19 should not attend the clinic.

It's a good time to get boosted with health officials warning of an emerging "tripledemic" in Massachusetts, with influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and COVID-19 on the rise. Massachusetts General Hospital on Thursday warned of a shortage of pediatric hospital beds across the state due to surging RSV cases.

Westborough's booster clinic will run 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday in the nurse's office at town hall, 34 West Main St., Room #203.
