Westborough High School MCAS Scores Top State Average

WESTBOROUGH, MA — The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) released the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) scores and Westborough High School students can be extremely proud of the results.

While the COVID-19 pandemic has seemingly affected scores across the Commonwealth, this did not seem to be the case in Westborough. Westborough High School far exceeded results compared to the state and exceeded results as compared to Westborough 2019 results in English and math.

For Grade 10 English Language Arts, 43 percent of Westborough students exceeded expectations compared to 19 percent average for the state and 45 percent of Westborough students met expectations compared to 45 percent for state.

Thus, Westborough High School students had 88 percent meeting or exceeding expectations as compared to 64 percent meeting or exceeding for the state in English Language Arts.

This is compared to 2019 when 84 percent of Westborough High School students met or exceeded expectations in English.

In math, 84 percent of Westborough High School students met or exceeded expectations in 2021 compared to 52 percent for the state.

In 2019, 83 percent of Westborough High School students met or exceeded expectations in math.
