Westborough To Honor Veterans Of The Year

Two veteran Westborough residents are being honored for their service.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—The Westborough Veterans Advisory Board is recognizing two resident veterans for their military service and contributions to the community.

On Feb. 6 at 5 p.m. the board recognizes Bill Carr and Jim Willwerth, Carr being named 2017 Veteran of the Year and Willwerth the 208 Veteran of the Year. The service takes place at the Town Hall in Memorial Hall.

Bill Carr enlisted in the Marines in 1946 straight out of Athol High and was sent to Parris Island for training.

Jim Willwerth went to BC High and Boston College, and signed up for the ORTC in the 1950s with at BC.
