Westborough Middle, Elementary Schools Ranked Among State's Best

WESTBOROUGH, MA — A Westborough elementary school and a Westborough Middle School rank among the best in the state, according to new rankings released Tuesday by U.S. News & World Report.

Sarah W. Gibbons Middle School ranked No. 12 in Massachusetts. The school serving grades 7 and 8 has 592 students. At Sarah W Gibbons Middle, 68% of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 75% scored at or above that level for reading.

J Harding Armstrong ranked No. 38 among elementary schools in the state. The K to 3 school has 367 students. At J Harding Armstrong, 67% of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 77% scored at or above that level for reading, according to U.S. News.

The news outlet based its 2024 Best Elementary and Middle School rankings on publicly available data from the U.S. Department of Education, focusing on student proficiency in core subject areas.

The U.S. News list includes data on more than 79,000 public elementary and middle schools nationwide.
