Westborough Voter Fraud: 'No Criminal Act Committed'
A look into possible voter fraud at Westborough's Town Meeting resulted in a determination that no fraud was committed.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—Although "not proper," authorities determined that the reported voting fraud at Monday's Fall Town Meeting did not violate any laws.
"After speaking with all parties involved, and after receiving information from a representative of the Secretary of State’s office, it has been determined that no criminal act was committed," said a release from the Westborough Police Department. " The Secretary of State’s office determined that although not proper, the individual who voted with two hand held voting devices did not violate any voting law. She did recommend that the Town Moderator update the rules that govern town meeting to reflect the current method of voting."
An investigation led by police showed that the person who was seen holding two hand-held electronic voting devices had been only issued one when checking in. The second one was issued to the person's wife, who had also checked in.
